Answers to your Frequently Asked Questions
What does it cost to join?
A – Adult Membership is currently $85 per year, Social (Non -runners ) is $40, Juniors/Students $35 and a Family of 2 Adults and 2 children cost $180. The membership year runs from September 1 to August 31. This entitles you to join us for a run every Thursday of the year and use the clubs amenities. Visitors are welcome and are able to run with the club on 3 occasions before being asked to join. Membership is paid through our Register Now facility, the link is on the home page of this website.
How far do you run?
A – On most Thursdays there is a set 3km, 5km and 10km distance. These are usually “mob” runs rather then races. Through the year there are also a series of timed runs which make up the Club Championship and Summer and Winter Handicap Series. Dates of these runs are on the club running Calendar.
Are Walkers Welcome?
A – Yes. Walkers are very welcome. They usually do the 3km course, or about a 20minute walk from the clubrooms. Most Thursdays there will be someone walking.
Will I be too slow?
A – No! We have a wide range of age groups and abilities within the club. there will usually be someone around the same speed as you.
What about training?
A – Apart from our Thursday runs there are a few different groups within the club who meet to run on various days. One of these is the Tuesday morning interval session organised by Doug Wright and held at the Oval every Tuesday morning at 6am! Another is the group who meet at Caf-fez at 6am every Saturday and run for 60 to 90 minutes before returning for Coffee for a Chat . This group breaks into smaller groups of varying speeds.
Do you have Juniors?
A – Yes , we have, but we are without a coach to run the juniors program currently, If you may be able to assist please contact us .
Can I hire the clubrooms?
A – No, sorry but under the terms of our lease we are no longer allowed to sub-let the facilities. If you wish to hire the oval then you must contact the City of Bunbury.
